Is it even a normal week if there isn't some weird beauty trend popping up? I don't think so. From silicone bra inserts as makeup sponges to using kitchen utensils for contouring, we have yet another bizarre beauty technique and it's this - Beauty Blender in a condom.

The latest beauty hack to go viral features vlogger Laila Tahri, who tried applying makeup using a Beauty Blender sponge tucked inside a condom. See for yourself:

Before you get any out of line ideas, Laila explained in a YouTube video that she tried the unusual hack in an attempt to mimic the effects of the famous SiliSponge. You know, the silicone makeup applicator that the beauty world is currently obsessed with?

“Here’s why I think it’s a good idea. The SiliSponge is really popular right now and the good thing about the SiliSponge is it doesn’t absorb any product, but after trying the SiliSponge I still prefer a normal sponge. But then I thought, “Maybe if I put some plastic around it, it’ll work the same," said Laila.

Surprisingly, the results were great! The condom-wrapped sponge did not absorb foundation so no product was wasted, and the application was nothing but seamless!

There's only one thing to note though, if you're keen on trying it out yourself: wash any lubrication off the condom before stuffing your BeautyBlender inside and touching it against your face.
