If you tell us you never danced along to Katy Perry’s 2008 hit ‘I Kissed A Girl’, we’re going to call you a liar.
But have you ever wondered who that song was actually about?
Well today, nearly a decade later, we’ve finally found out: Miley Cyrus!
Miley was doing a radio interview when she finally fessed up to this secret. “When [Katy] came out with 'I Kissed a Gir'l, I was doing the Hannah Montana movie,” she told the host.
“And I heard her on the radio,” Miley continued. “They said, ‘Who'd you write that about?’ And [Katy] said me! And I was on a four-wheeler at the time and I heard it and I started screaming and freaking out and then she asked me to go to the MTV VMAs with her.”
Admit it, you probably would have started screaming and freaking out too, if you found out Katy Perry wrote a song about making out with you.
Now we should point out, if this story is legit, Miley would only have been 15 years old when she locked lips with Katy. Which sounds slightly scandalous, but we’re willing to give the two a pass.
Especially because the story of their trip to the VMAs is the sweetest most-high school trip ever: “And [Katy] took me, but my mom didn't want me to go by myself, stranger danger, so my mom went with me in the limo with Katy Perry. And my mom didn't really get the joke. She just thought it was cool that I got to go with Katy Perry.”
In the past, Katy has said the make-out inspiration for 'I Kissed a Girl' were celebrities like Angelina Jolie, Natalie Portman and Scarlett Johansson. So do you think Miley’s story is true, or does she just desperately wish she’d sucked face with Perry 9 years ago?
